Vikings add some depth to the middle linebacker position with the resign Marvin Mitchell

Now that NFL Free agency has died down and we are just a little over a month away from the next big event, which is the NFL draft. Here is a bit of interesting news for fellow Viking fans. Today, the team has decided to bring back Marvin Mitchell on a one year deal. This was another good player to bring back considering how well he contributed on special teams and for the one start he got, in that Monumental game against the 49ers that got the Vikings moving in the right direction early in the season. Considering the fact that the Vikings depth at middle linebacker is thin with Audie Cole and possibly Erin Henderson. (though Erin Henderson is better off playing at the weak side Linebacker position)  the only one’s at the moment. This move provides a young vet, who has proven, when he played for the New England patriots, that he can be a decent short term option as a starter, since the Vikings decided to let Jasper Brinkley leave for the Cardinals . Now with this move going Forward, it’s widely believed that with one of the two first round picks the Vikings have in this years draft, they will address and replenish their roster with more depth at the middle linebacker position with an addition of a Arthur Brown, Manti te’o, or Alec Ogletree. These are just a few names I’ve seen referenced to the Vikings in many mock drafts. If the Vikings do indeed pick up one of these Linebacker in the draft. This should make for some excellent competition going forward into training camp.
