President Barack Obama honored NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski and his crew for winning the Sprint Cup Series championship. A little late there again, eh Obama? Now I know the Presidetn is busy, but some of these honors are so late that I’ve almost forgotten about them, like Keselowski winning the Sprint Cup, when did that happen again? We’re stilling waiting for the Crimson Tide to be honored.
Obama said the team’s friendship and teamwork helped them pull off the victory. He said Keselowski is, in his words, ”a heck of a driver,” and that those who know him aren’t surprised by his success.
The president also honored Keselowski’s efforts to give back to the community through the Race to Recovery program, which helps wounded service members and their relatives. Obama joked that Keselowski offered to let him take it for a spin but that the Secret Service nixed the idea.
