East Playoff Preview: Knicks Finally Move Past the First Round

This is probably the best game for the East in the first round of the playoffs. The Knicks have been on a roll since early March; sure the lost a few game here and there but this team has been hot! The Knicks are the only the only threat to the Heat this year. I may hate Carmello’s selfishness and cry baby attitude, but the Celtics are strong and play better as an all-around team.

The Reason the Celtics are in the 7th spot is because of just how awful they were at the start of the NBA season. First of all the Celtics had an easy schedule this year, and if it weren’t for their terrible head start they easily could’ve been in the 6th or 5th spot. It also helps that Rondo is out so now the Celtics can band together to play better team basketball, and two of the players who have stepped up are forward Jeff Green and guard Jason Terry. Since Rondo’s injury, Green is averaging 14 points per game and shooting 52.5 percent for the floor. Garnett has been playing loose and playing all out, he’s a great threat. To add to this threat we have Paul Pierce finally facilitating the ball and Doc Rivers is probably the best coach in the NBA.

This is why Carmelo Anthony came to New York, and this is why the New York Knicks gave away so much to get him. When the playoffs begin, the team wants to be relevant. Now you Knicks fans should calm down a bit. The Celtics are going to be tough yes, but the Knicks are the second best team in the East. The oddest part is that statistically the Knicks are an average team. Like any other game the Knicks victory comes down to Carmello, but if Garnett can get under Anthony’s skin and throw him off his game. Carmello better watch his head, no need to be waiting by team buses this time.
