In just the past 24 hours the feelings on this past road trip have flipped for the better for us tribe fans! With the exception of the 19-6 win against the Astros on the second night out the rest of the trip was seeming humdrum at best. With one other win then rain outs an off day and and three straight losses it wasn’t looking good for the tribe. That was untill last nights 10-3 win, a win that seemed to carry on into tonights game.
Ubaldo Jimenez looking more confident than in the past pitched seven strong innings allowing only three hits with four strike outs leading to his first win of the season! Jimenez is now 1-2 on the season. This was also the second night in a row we”ve got to see starting pitchers go out there and be consistant going into seven innings and not have to work from behind, hopefully a trend that’ll stick.
On the other side for the tribe tonight Ryan Raburn. Two singles and two homers, including a three run bomb in the six run 5th inning, giving him a total of four RBIs and a career high four hits! Also adding to the win were Jason Kipnis with a homer, Asdrubal Cabrera with two RBIs, and Mark Reynolds and Carlos Santana each with an RBI.
Putting all of that together and more tonights final the Indians 9 the Royals 0, ending the road trip with a plus one in the win coloumn at 5-4. With the Royals loss and the Tigers win tonight it also drops the Royals out of first place now by half a game. The tribe will be back in Cleveland tomorrow playing host to the Philadelphia Phillies with McAllister back out on the mound.
