LeBron Isn’t the MVP

First of all let me clear the air.  LeBron James is the best basketball player on the planet.  Now that that’s been established, he doesn’t deserve the MVP award.  There are two people that I believe are more deserving of the MVP (It would have been three, get well soon Black Mamba).
Carmelo Anthony has been at his best for the majority of the season, especially the huge win they had opening night.  He’s coming off of his first scoring title victory, and in all honesty if he weren’t injured or suspended for long stretches in the past this very well could have been his second or third.  If you look at the Knicks you know exactly whose team it is, and Melo has proved this season that he was worth the trade 2 1/2 years ago.  The Knicks also boast the second best record in the Eastern Conference, and they are one more game away from advancing into the next round of the playoffs.  If Carmelo isn’t deserving the next guy should be Kevin Durant.
Kevin Durant is only going to get better, and he’s proven that this year. He’s tallied more triple doubles this season than he has in any other season, and he has career highs in almost every stat aside from points per game. The Thunder also have the second best record in the NBA and didn’t need a 27 game winning streak just to finish 6 games behind the Miami Heat.  Now that Russell Westbrook has been injured expect the Thunder in my opinion to be more efficient as far as scoring goes. If KD can advance to the finals without his right hand man, let alone win the entire thing by himself he’s for sure the MVP.
In conclusion the numbers that LeBron puts up are expected of him at this point in his career.  He’s had 3 MVP reigns already. I’m not saying don’t consider him because 3 is enough, but when there are other players even more deserving of the individual accolade give it to the more deserving person.

  1. Sadly I slightly agree with you, LeBron doesn’t deserve the MVP because he hasn’t done anything to improve his game this year. Though LeBron will get it simply because of the season he had, only slightly better then he did last year. Perhaps Kobe should really get the MVP because of his injury and the sweep the Laker suffered proved how important Kobe is to the team.
